Resolve to Give Your Kansas Auto Insurance a Fresh Start in 2010

If there's one thing your instructor should have told you when you were sitting through all those boring driver's ed classes it would be how very, very easy it is to get a tiny black smudge on your record. Going over your day's to-do list when you're driving. Singing along to the radio. Driving with screaming children in the backseat. All of these happen sooner or later, and each and every one is a prime recipe for a speeding ticket, a fender bender and negative points on an otherwise unblemished license.
If this has happened to you, and now you're finding it almost impossible to get cheap Kansas auto insurance (or even reasonably affordable Kansas auto insurance!) cheer up. New year, new start, and the best place for you to begin is with your insurance rates.
First and foremost, how much time do you spend on the road during rush hour? Did you know that most Kansas auto insurance companies immediately raise your rates when they find out you're a rush hour commuter? That's because rush hour is absolutely, positively the worst time to be sitting in traffic. Everyone's in a hurry to get where they're going, and their minds are almost never on their driving. With work, house work and a never ending to-do list running through their heads, who would expect it to be? If you can shift your schedule around so you leave a little earlier or a little later on both ends you'll not only dramatically reduce your chances of being in an accident, you'll make your auto insurance company happy while you're at it.
Who doesn't like that?
Next, when was the last time you voluntarily sat through a driver's improvement course? No, I'm not talking about when the judge made you go, I'm talking about the last time you walked in and said, "Yes, I want you to teach me to be a better driver." Again, insurance companies love that stuff. Not only will you actually learn some great tactics to help you deal with rush hour traffic, winter weather and drivers with more acceleration than common sense. Aaaand knock a few negative points off your license while you're at it!
Finally (and this one's going to hurt) what kind of car are you driving? Believe it or not, according to your Kansas auto insurance provider there are "good" cars to insure and there are "bad" cars to insure. If your car falls under the heading of "bad" car you're going to be paying out the ear for insurance for the rest of your life. Pick up a "good" car, on the other hand, and you'll be on the fast track for the kind of cheap auto insurance rates six months ago you could only dream about.
Knocking big bucks off your Kansas auto insurance isn't hard. You just have to be willing to do the work. The question is, are you? And how far are you willing to go to save 10-20% each year on one of the few bills you absolutely have to pay?
