Strange, Unusual and Downright Hysterical Traffic Laws that Could Affect Your Auto Insurance Quotes
Did you know that in Virginia you can get a ticket for driving barefoot, even if there is a hole in the floor a la Fred Flintstone? Or that in Youngstown, Ohio, you can be ticketed for running out of gas? You'd be amazed by the wild, wacky and zany traffic laws you find when you cruise from coast to coast, but don't get too excited. If the cops catch you, it doesn't matter how off the wall that law happens to be.
It's still a ticket, and there's still a chance that it could completely kill your chances of finding cheap auto insurance quotes!
Other Street-wise Legislation that Might Take You by Surprise When You're Traveling from Coast to Coast
In California, women are not allowed to drive a car (or any other motor vehicle)
If you're driving through New Jersey with a bumper sticker that reads "Honk if you love Skippy the Kangaroo!" keep your windows rolled up or you could go deaf. Drivers are required to honk by law!

New York State law clearly states that the blind are not allowed to drive an automobile.
When driving in Tennessee, make sure you bring your No Doz. It's against the law to operate an automobile while sleeping! You'd think the threat of what would happen to their auto insurance quotes after they woke up would be bad enough...
Utah residents have to keep a weather eye out. According to their own state laws, birds have the right of way on any public highway! I'm not sure how you'd explain that one to the judge.
In Florida, it's against the law to put cows, sheep and other livestock on a school bus, even if that school bus is taking a field trip to the farm.
Leave your bandana at home! It's illegal to drive while wearing a blindfold when driving through the state of Alabama.
Alaska has officially declared it illegal to tether your dog to the roof rack on your car.
If you're going to be driving in Eureka, California, don't forget to make a reservation at the local hotel. It doesn't matter how attractive the concrete is, it's still illegal to use the street for a bed!
For better fitness, have a donut for breakfast! In South Berwick, Maine you're going to be ticketed for parking in front of Dunkin Donuts, which means you're going to walk off those calories getting from your car to the building long before they start moving toward your hips.
Grab a friend and a stopwatch, you need to practice getting in and out of the driver's seat. Why? Because if you're driving through Oregon you could find yourself picking up a ticket for leaving your car door open too long!
Are all of these strictly enforced by today's law enforcement? Who knows. It probably depends on who pulls you over and what mood they happen to be in that day. But if you want to keep your auto insurance quotes (and your dignity) safe from utter humiliation you'll err on the side of caution and remember that when you're driving in Glendale, Arizona it's illegal to drive the car in reverse-so you'd better get it right the first time!
