Pennsylvania Summers are the Hottest Time to Pick Up a Commercial Car Insurance Policy for Your Business

Pennsylvania Car Insurance Company
Summertime is a gold mine for construction workers, especially in Pennsylvania where winter is the original Neverending Story and construction work is limited to about six weeks out of the year! Something about the way the brilliant summer sun shows off the damage winter snow and ice dealt out inspires hundreds to jazz up their house with stylish (and trendy) renovations. But how are you, as the original savvy construction worker, going to get your tools and equipment to and from your jobs? There's a reason that no self respecting construction worker would ever be without a pick-up truck! But without a commercial car insurance policy you could find yourself stuck with the bill for thousands of dollars of damages if you're in an accident in the line of duty.

When you buy an insurance policy from just about any Pennsylvania car insurance company they're

Construction companies aren't the only ones who need commercial car insurance. A commercial policy might be required if you work in:

· Pizza Delivery

· Catering

· Newspaper Deliver

· Door-to-Door Sales or Consulting

· Landscaping/Snowplowing

· Day Care

· Real Estate

going to ask you "how you intend to use your vehicle." (As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that exact phrase is in their documented script somewhere!) The obvious answer is duh, to drive it…but they knew that already. They want to know if you're going to be using your truck to haul your family, complete with pic-a-nic basket, to and from the beach or if you spent thousands of dollars on a sturdy pick-up so you'd have a reliable business vehicle.

Since vehicles used for business are more likely to be hauling trailers that have a mind of their own, and to spend four to six hours a day out on the highways, they're something like 20% more likely to get into an accident. That means they're more likely to cost their car insurance companies money-and you're going to be paying more for your car insurance coverage. Because of that, most personal car insurance policies issued by any Pennsylvania car insurance carrier aren't going to cover accidents that happened as a result of commercial use. You're going to have to pick up a commercial policy.

Of course, picking up a commercial car insurance policy for your truck, van, trailer or car is always a good idea anyway. Commercial policies usually have higher liability limits, which is good news when you're carrying a bed full of equipment, and if one of your employees or subcontractors needs to use your truck somewhere they'll be covered too. A lot of Pennsylvania car insurance companies have a tendency to moan, complain and raise your car insurance rates if one of your employees is in an accident.

Commercial policies make filing business related car insurance claims much easier, and you can get the coverage you need for your business vehicle(s) at lower insurance rates than you would normally find just about anywhere else. So if you're looking to rack up some big bucks this summer on the job and you're going to be spending time on the Pennsylvania highways (especially if you have to travel the newly built I-99) make sure you talk to your car insurance provider first and pick up a qualified commercial policy for your business vehicles.

Trust us, your profit and loss statements will thank you when you're not spending thousands of dollars on repairs your car insurance company won't cover.
